Its just they guy I bought it from wants the plate back but legally I think it is mine. However I cba with the hassle for 300 quid or less but if it is worth 3k then thats a different issue. Although I don't want to run the risk of him finding out that I have had it valued and I want to hide my address and name from him.
Gonna be worth £250 if you bought it from DVLA aren't they? Type similar layouts on their site and see what they come up with. Give 'em a ring and ask as to whether the plates are legally yours
So you bought a car with a private plate on it and knew it was included or did he say he wanted it back ?
If you name is on the certificate its legally yours. Although iu dont know the circumstances so maybe 'good will' if he wanted it back before the sale.... if not, tough cookie for him i think.
Regtransfers will value a plate with e-mail address i think. Iwould do it for you but i will get about 5 emails later over the course of months asking if i wanted to sell it. I get the alot as like top try make money out plates a bit.
All I signed (well Dad signed) was an eligible receipt saying the car was sold as seen.
I will have a look for the above Brian. Btw it has been a month now and still haven't got the log book back... Would this transfer be holding things up?
