Hi guys, just checking under the hood of my 172cup and i noticed this pipe above the air box! (see pic)

I assume it should be connected to the breather tube on the air filter box? can some one confirm please!

I have no idea how long i have been driving with it disconnected. Could any damage have been caused? should i reconnect it? what does it do?

Cheers for your help all!

Dr i normally check every two weeks or so especially as cam belt is due to be done. asap, but never noticed that pipe before.

well they dont attach it for no reason do they so yea its going to cause some performance loss an maybe damage

Its only the crankcase breather, it won't cause any damage or performance loss. Just reconnect it.

As above....won't cause damage but won't help with the emissions/environment as all those fumes pour out of the open end of the pipe!

Stick a breather filter on it!

That reminds me.. How come the 1.2's don't have a crankcase breather visible? Where is it hiding?
