  Renault clio 172
Hi there I'm sure this has been covered before but I'm new to the site and don't no how to work it yet, anyway I need to replace the back discs and pads on my 172 was just wondering what you guys would recommend not mega fussed on price as breaks are not something I will skimp on as I have 2 small children, I don't race the car if you no what Mean but I do push it from time to time when the kids arnt in, and the fade with the current set is horrible so I may thinking about it need to do the front as well, all thoughts and advice would be a great help as I don't really want the crap a garage will put on thanks again

  Whichever has fuel
Standard rear brakes are fine.

If the fronts need doing it would be worth getting some better pads (Brembo DS2500 for example) and some nice fresh fluid in there as a minimum, maybe even a decent set of Brembo High carbon discs.

Theres a guy on here (g172) who can do very good deals on brakes.

Thanks for the replays so far, any thoughts on brembo Hc rear discs ( that's how there advertised) as I have a chance to buy a pair for 70 pounds from someone in Newcastle who bought them for his clio and has since sold his car, sorry in advance if this is a stupid question as I don't have a clue about these things

Just get genuine, they have the best bearings (apparently) and don't forgot the washer when changing the rear disc, lots of people seam to forget to put this back on.

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
Genuine rear disks only, ever. Motrio pads are just fine, rear doesn't do much braking really, it's the bearings you need to worry about being good quality, and a set of disks with bearings pre-pressed costs about the same as a pair of genuine bearings on their own

Yeah whatever brakes you get, make sure you get the washers to put on aswell. I never fitted any to mine because i didnt know about then at the time, and my rear wheels had ALOT of play in them. Dangerous
