Which Chip

Which chip do i go for guys Hill Power or BB Performance which is best and which 1 will give me more BHP.

There is quite a price difference isnt there?

I would have thought the BBPT chip as they have a rolling road iirc.

Saying that I have the HP chip and am happy with it. I know there are better chips on the market but for the money I couldnt say no.....

think it was 140quid iirc but prices have since gone up a little I think.

off the shelf chip did fek all for my car. runs better on standard chip believe it or not!

shame cos its gonna cost me £600 now for a proper one ;)

I found by BB chip to raise the rev limiter, as they all do and power seems to be more linear. The drivability of the car is better. Its not all about bhp. Got mine fitted when I had a cambelt change and with my CDA and Magnex inc decat they RRd at 148bhp.

Think the chip was 250 when I got it, now 350. For that kind of money I would get a programmable one as any futher mods will need a new chip that is probably dearer than a remap or tweak to settings.

Happy with my Hillpower chip, seems to increase pull mid/top end and the higher rev limit is very usefull. If your planning further mods I would save for a unichip or SMT6 instead though.

Hmmm... im driving around with a Clio Cup chip in myne. We have tried with 4 other chips but this one seemed more suiting for the car setup. I have no decat on mine but shows 146 bph on a dynorun. Might get at bit more without the cat but why when the chip has given me tonque from 1500 rev to pull clean even in 5th.

This chip is really cheap actually. I have a couple in spare if interessted. 150 £ incl freight.

smt6 is similar to unichip, a piggyback chip. cost is about £600 all in including a full day on the rollers!

Smoothed... ive got 146 hp on the wheels with manifold, straightthrough exhaust and another ehxaustpipe. Still have my cat on, since it has just been at MOT ;)

Its been on 3 different once. First said 155 on the wheels which i laughed at since i knew that was way to high. Next showed 145,6 hp. Third run was 146,1 hp. All runs had almost identical tonquecurves at around 170 nm. But this i past 5000 rpm. Eventhough the tonque has ben moved app. 1000 rpm i have much better low rev tonque. The car pulls away even from 1500 revs i every gear.

-Sad thing though, my engine has quitted on me. Startede with a crankshaftbearing quitted on me. Shifted this bearing. (With the engine in the care from the sump and up). The lasted a week now an app. 250 miles. I even drove it very kind 3000 revs at max. Suddenly the lights in the car started flashing. Pulled over shut off the engine. Unplugged the stereo ect to find out where the fault where. But the fault disappered. Drov further no noises from the engine so fare. On the way back going off the freeway the engine started doing some odd stuff. Engine started to chuckle. At 1500 revs the oillamp started to lightup. And the it died... Tried to start it up again but batteri seem a bit dead. (Its brand new so that was very odd). After about 30 min or so i tried starting it up again and it spun up. Drov it the last 1,5 miles back home very very kindly... 2000 revs no noises from the engine of any kind. When i was parking it.. it died again... that is where it is at now.. and will be the rest of the month till i get in my garage with it.

I have no clue whats wrong with it. And was thinking to pull the sh*t out and try giving it a complete overhaul.. but damn its expensive... Any help to get from you guys?
