which lowering kit?

  2004 Clio 182
i want to lower my 2002 1.6 40mm
i have read that just changing the springs to something like apex can make the ride very hard.
If i dont want such a harsh ride should i get a spring and dampeners combo?
I dont need to be able to adjust the amount it is lowered so i dont really need coilovers, unless the give some other advantage over a spring and dampener kit?

will i be able to fit the springs and dampeners myself?

recomendations please

Dave

HERE'S a link to the K-Tec website where i got my Apex kit

i bought 40mm and i think it is sweet as..
down to you..
but for me 60mm would be too much as there is too many speed bump...

i have 60mm (just spax springs) but im gonna stick the apex red shocks as recomended above on very soon. i can still have 5 people in the car with no rubbing and dont really have any probs with speed bumps except for the fact there is too many of the damn things around

not many speed bumps around me so that isnt really a problem.
sounds really picky but i dont like it when the rear tyres sits inside the body work, i think it looks better then it just follows the outside line of the wheel arch.

Martin_89 wouldnt the gap between the top of the rear tyres and the bottom of the arch be small if he had 16" wheels on the red car?

if someone could post 2 clear, side on images, of none 2.0ltr's, mk2 ph2, both with the same size wheels, one which has been lowered 40mm and one which has been lowered 60mm that would be amazing and would make it a lot easier for me

Mine -60mm when i had the 15's on it
see for me that is perfect. where as the photo of yours with the other wheels on (im guessing the other wheels are 16"'s??) is just a fraction, and only by a tiny bit, to low and thats just for my liking and i dont want to offend you.

so can i have a bit of a guess and say that yours with 15"s on is going to look almost exactly the same as a -40mm drop with 16" wheels or is that wrong??
