Exactly £300, and how much is the subscription business, have no idea about these.

I have been told the best one is the snooper s3-r any ideas? is £299

The best one is the Origin B2.

First 6 months free.. then £50 a year after that I think?

Its about £300 -> £350 depending where ya go - or £429.99 or something direct!

Look on ebay (some on there, or try radardetectors.co.uk )

what is the subscription all about though? is it just to add new cameras to its memory - does it not just pick up new cameras as you go along? really have no idea soz

Its important to remember that these units dont "detect" anything. They just use a built in database and a GPS computer to work out where you are. THe subscription entitles you to download new versions of the database whenever you want.

cool mate very helpful chap arent you! think it looks like the Snooper S4 neo, Origin B2 has too many trailing wires for my liking

Like the built in jobs

I did it myself one evening in the dark. Its really easy and Im crap at that sort of job!!

The GPS reciever is on the right rear window ledge and all the wires meet behind the dash by the drivers side door.

I paid £349.99 from Radardetectors.co.uk

The Origin B2 unit unclips pretty easy I think.. so you just take it out like a stereo..

Like a radio face plate just take it with you or hide it.

Also available is a carry case for the valentine 1:cool:

Bel 550, Valentine 1 (phase 2) are both VERY good Radar detectors (i.e. gatso + handheld + mobile cameras) which the GPS wont pick up. Ive got the 990 (pre-facelift 550) and it rocks, and my mate has the valentine 1 which is just as good detection wise but has the display showing how many and which direction theyre in.

550 can be got for about £300, which is virtually cost price! If you havent got many front-facing cameras or SPECS near you then you may as well stick to a radar detector only, unless you do big miles in unknown areas.

The 550 and the V1 will pick up laser too but, TBH, its pretty pointless as, if it goes off, youve been done (9 times out of ten). If you want protection from that, get a diffuser! (another £200+...)

Noel, Ive placed my GPS reciever on the ledge by the right rear window. It gets a perfect lock every time in no time at all.

The laser detector is at the base of the windscreen just above the wipers. You can see that in the pictures in the link I posted further up this thread.
