after last nights meet and nearly getting out of shape a few times i think its time i sorted the suspension out ive been looking at Eibach springs and dampers but there abit to pricey ive had gmax before and the handlerling was impressive any one els had gmax or can recommend a better set up ?

Eibach springs will be the best (along with H+R). G-max dampers are a bit poo! You get what you pay for really mate! If the car got out of shape was this not due to your driving rather than the suspension set-up??? Maybe a set of Eibachs and a track day rather than springs and dampers!:) :)

Ahh! Maybe just some new dampers would do the job then?? I got some FK coil-overs for £400 all in and they're great if a little firm! I'm sure they do them for the 1.6! If you're getting bouncy suspension then springs aren't gonna help really, infact some uprated springs may make things worse! I guess you'll have to bite the bullet and get some springs and dampers! I went through this a few weeks back. Genuine Renault dampers aren't too pricey! Maybe get some of them and some Eibcah pro's! Either that or some coillies!

yeh i was thinking just the springs but dosent performance springs wear out standard dampers i dont mind spending about 300 pound if it handles well

If you buy lowering springs the rate will be higher, therefore requiring uprated dampers to keep them in check. A lowering spring also has a shorter stroke therefore really requires a damper that's designed to work over that shorter stroke. A standard damper, if in good condition will just cope with controlling certain springs (eibach pro's etc) but will wear quicker as they're moving a lot over a small amount of thier intended stroke!

Personally speaking Mikey, If I were you I would save for the Eibach springs and dampers. I know they are a tad expensive but there are worth every pound. My car handles so well now, never fails to put a smile on my face. It was definitely the best thing I could have done for my car.

Spend the extra dosh and go for Eibachs, you won't regret it. ;)

£300 is cheap for suspension hecne why IMO its never nay good (I've yet to see nay decinet stuff like stock).

New Renault dampers are £200 then use springs.

Exactly what I think! Renault dampers, Eibach springs!
