Whiing Noise When Turning

Hi,

My car seems to have developed a whining sort of noise whenever I turn left. Sounds like a belt almost. It only happens when the car is moving and only when i turn it to a certain point.

Bit embarrassing as one of my mates thought it was my tyres squealing from going round a corner the other day

Any ideas?

Whining when turning - I would normally assume PAS. But maybe not if your mate thinks it sounded like tyre squeal :S

PAS pump may be failing and its causing the belt to slip. Or could be a seized tensioner

Saying that, we only had sunroof open a bit and had radio on, plus my mate's a r****d who doesn't drive .

Yeh, I read somewhere that it could be the PAS pump. Any other way that I could check it as I've heard it aint too cheap replacing it?
