Whining Noise from Driver Side Wheel

Right I'm getting a really strange noise which sounds like its coming from the drivers side wheel, sounds like a whining noise is very loud and annoying. Only seems to do it if I travel quite a distance say around 15-20 miles then it will seem to kick in. It occurs when I turn to the right, or if I dip the clutch and cost, and when I'm accelerating and I've got my foot on accelerator it will make the noise but if I push my foot down it wont :s.

I am really confused and its really difficult to explain so Im sorry if no one can understand this. My dad said it sounds like it may be the wheel bearing does this sound right ? If so how much does it cost to get one of these changed.

less than £100 if a garage does it much less if you take the hub off and take it to the garage
