who can do cambelt changes

hi, ive been reading through a few posts about the cambelt change. I was just wondering if there is anyone on here who does them? I maybe wrong but is it 'Fred' and does anyone know how much he/they charges?

You got Aircon? if so it will be more due to more time needed etc,

yes i've got aircon its a 182 cup the car has only done 35k but belt was due in january 2010 so its on my mind now lol

I just received a quote from a local french car specialist, just a small set up, but next door to where I work, so thought i'd ask because of the convienience. They came back with 570 quid and they would need the car for 2 days as it's a fiddly job. I declined and quoted some of the prices found here, they said they couldn't see how it could be done for that price, and, are you sure it includs vat.
Anyway I'm still doing some shopping around, how long does it actually take anyway? I really can't be without my car. and i need to get it done before I'm without it permenently if it goes bang !

We charge £450 as does fred, that is including a cambelt kit (gates we use) and a genuine renault auxiliary drive belt kit, labour and vat etc. If we have a car for 9am, its done for 2, all roadtested bill done etc etc.
