who has had their car re-mapped?

I am curious to who runs cars that have being re-mapped on here? and what are all the advantages and disadvantages are?

also does re-mapping work better for petrol cars or diesel, or is there no real difference between them ?

works best for turbo cars both petrol and diesel.

its worth doing a 172 however i got a decent gain from mine, more in drivability rather than power. my DCi flew when it was remapped!

I know the cost of it can be quite high but is there any disadvantages like increase in insurance (if so how much) and will it void any warranty on the car?

My car is a DCi 65... would it make a noticeable difference to the car in any/many ways?

persoanlly i wouldnt bother telling insurance about remaps...how would they ever find out ??? Keep the money in your pocket that you would spend telling insurance for yourself. Also a remap will do a diesel very well. You'll probably notice just under 100bhp in your car.

Have mine done, smoother acceleration maybe a bit more torque and more mpg on motorways, i heard diesels do well from them as the sayin goes in diesel tuning 'no smoke, no poke'

Fitted a new ecu to mine today with a drivability map, revs higher and feels better in midrange, which i think 172's suffer with. Not road legal tho so didnt get proper chance to test it out.
