In case you were wondering--and I was, given the noises Microsoft has been making lately about the open-source operating system--Linus Torvalds does indeed own the trademark on Linux. Interestingly, so does Rosch, a detergent company based in Switzerland.

MS has been making "noises" for years and are just as likely to fall foul of patents as anyone else.

They won't name the patents, won't say in what way they have been infringed and refuse to say how they found out. What does that tell you?

Also, its fair to say that if somone were allowed full access to M$ code, and had the time to do so they would find hundreds of patent violations.

I didnt used to hate Microshaft when I first started using Ubuntu, but the more I read into the Linux community the more pissed I get at M$.

Btw I tried PCLinuxOS at the weekend and its great. Xandros is good but not as good as Ubuntu IMO.

Same goes, didnt hate Mircrosoft until I started learning more about their company and their practice... Although I have always hated windows lol.

Just upgraded one of my Ubuntu boxes to latest version.. I can see why newbs and professionals love it. One click OS upgrades !
