ISP = Internet Service Provider which is the company that provides your internet access such as Pipex, Virgin, AOL, etc.

oh right, virgin lol, but i've just googled "cant download anything" and it seems it a problem a few people have had, here one possible solution below, BUT TO START WITH I GET STUCK AT 1) COMPUTER NUMPTY!!!

HOW DO I GET INTO MY NAME LOCAL SETTINGS? DONT LAUGH!!! HA HA

1) Just go to

C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\Local Settings

(note: Local Settings could be a hidden file which you need to be able to view first)

Then uncheck read-only under property for
"Temporary Internet Files" and "Temp", thus changing all the subfolders and files properties.

2) Then go to Tools->Internet Options->temporary internet files -> settings
to set a reasonable amount - say 300MB of space for temporary internet files folder.

Ive heard a few storys that Virgin are cutting users bandwidth but that shouldnt stop your downloads! As far as I know they dont throttle your p2p traffic like many ADSL ISP's do so it does seem strange.

might be a problem with virgin, i tried to watch some football highlights on their website earlier and they would load about 7% and then stop...
