Got my 182 cos i had a mk2 172 with just over 4 years trouble free motoring .

Also cheap considering all the toys you get , the look of the car , handling / speed . Best car in its class imo .

Because I couldnt get a faster, newer car for what I paid for it. On my shopping list was a golf R32 but was nowhere near the same price so I had the 182 instead. IMO I made the right choice.

as for someone elses comments, its not a sports car at all IMO, it's a hot hatch. FWD etc etc defo not a sports car, despite the factory name.

Once the missus turned 25 I had to get something a little fruitier as the main car having gone down the rover 200/25 route previously for insurance purposes, altho I didn't mind having the rovers as i've always had my old school toys also mk1 xr2/ mk1 golf gti/ and now mk1 fiesta supersport. I looked at/tested various hot hatches ZR160/CTR/GTI 180/182 etc and settled for a 172CUP with 7500k on the clock as it was the best IMO over all.

i always liked the RS-1, had a test drive when they first came out through a friend at Renault.

Insurance was the problem then, not any more.

A few reasons for changin to the 182

- Had a C2 VTR, hated the gear box and wanted to get sumthin with a proper manual, and a bit more power.

- Got the 182 at a good price.

- Always liked Clios.

- Drove Alan's 182, a was very impressed
