Why does this have 1.2 clocks?

  S13
I seem to recall reading on here that at some point during production Renault simply ran out of sport clocks so carried on making them with non-sport ones. Could be wrong though.

could have had them changed for a number of reasons, have you asked the seller?

  BMW M135i
Its most probably an import, i've seen them with 1.2 expression/authentique clocks in before usually don't have a trip computer either.

  E92 M3 Monte Carlo
the spec on imports varied from where they came from,i remember someone having an import from south africa i think and it had no heated rear screen

  Breaking A 172 Replica
You sure someone hasn't changed the clocks to give the impression the car has covered fewer miles??

Its got Motorpoint Of Derby plates on it, so odds on its an import, but mines the same and has the proper clocks in it, plus all the bits Brisih ones have. It was a Netherlands import

Mines a Dutch import, and doesn't have clocks like that. The plate mean fcuk all, as mine came from a Reno dealer in Hull but the service book say Reno Amsterdam.

  RB 197 fatty
iv got a 1.2 that came from the factory with sports clocks!

weird, but suppose it doesnt do any harm just doesnt look as good, 1.2 clocks go to 150mph and 7250rpm so does the job, but no trip computer on those ones

iirc Gareth's old car came with non-RS clocks.

production problem iirc

that's right. It WILL BE because it is an import. Mine came with the same dials, I eventually changed them for a proper set, cost me £100 for a second hand set of dials, then a further £130 to have the mileage corrected. Also, as said the trip computer won't work with those dials.

  Turbos.
Mine came from Motorpoint... i don't remember if i have those dials but i do have a trip computer. But then my old 1.2 had a trip computer too...

if you had the trip computer, you had the proper dials. Its not all imports that were like this, it was very few, unfortunately mine was one of them. I tried arguing it out with Motorpoint and Renault, but surprise, surprise neither wanted to know. After getting a quote of £400 for a set of dials from Renault (unfitted) I sorted it out myself for £230.

E-mailed the seller regarding the dials. In all honestly he didn't know they were different, but after contacting Renault was told they were an optional extra... Plenty other deals to chose from so will give this option a miss.
