Why no esp or cruise control?

My mate has just bought a 02 plate 172 but his does not have esp or cruise control. Is his an import or is it because it is an early car?

Early model. Will have esp, but not switchable iirc.

Cruise control was added towards the end of 2003 in lieu of the 6 CD changer.

Due to age. Late 52 early 03 cars will have it.

Think these were 53 onwards in silver.

August 2002 build onwards had ESP/Cruise. Alarm and CD became optional.

My 02 plate has no cruise control,I find my right foot is good enough.
No I'm not jealous,not one bit.
