Im yet to see a ripped wii game about, let alone a modchip!

In other news the KDF and the cli0_172 have had each other chipped so they may seek each other in the wilderness of West Calder. 
In my opinion its a bad thing, id never own up to the stacks of illegal copies of material in my barn. Arrrrrr!

Almost every Wii game has been ripped and is available for download if you know where to look.
well theres been plenty of threads removed on here by anal mods that talk about legal software, and dont even mention piracy.
yet discussion about mod chips to play backups is being allowed? lol
btw whoever said they should do them for the xbox.. erm you can get firmware mods for the 360s?

Personally i see the modchip as a good thing for consumers, if it unlocks some more potential in the console then im all for it. As for game back-ups, well for Nintendo and developers ultimately it's bad for us all. With that said that wasn't the reason the GC died, and for me at least it held my interest in my Xbox as it became a fully fledged mediacenter.

i remember first getting my playstation 1 and like 5 genuine games for christmas came to 200 and something quid.. ridiculous

Well the Xbox's I used to sell came with Xecuter3 chips, I did it the proper way by soldering all the wires to the correct mobo points, they later released a clip-on jobbie, but me being tight I continued to solder away as i'd never encountered any problems with doing it.
So to answer your question, in the later days of modding them they didnt need to be soldered if you bought a clip-on jobbie.

Apparently Nintendo will be releasing a USB dongle/key that enables DVD playback on the system, no idea on release dates yet though.
