not surprised tbh, its cheaper, is more accessible for all the family and gets kids, teenagers and adults involved, even those that aren't into consoles and gaming, been some clever marketing arround it too

No brainer tbh.

The japs love Nintendo and the quirky games Nintendo offer. Coupled with a very low price point it's always going to outsell the PS3 and the 360.

Frankly I'm glad Nintendo have finally got a killer product, would of been a crying shame if they only became a 3rd party developer for Sony/MS given their heritage and everything they've bought to the table.

play do them for under £400 with a bluray movie and a HDMI cable, there is nothing else you would need to purchase except a game for like £30 and you have an amazing box of tricks!

The only reason I got a PS3 was for the blu-ray player. Had it since November and only played about 3 hours of games as there is s**t all out there

GC had 'some' good games yeh, but more of them were ports from 3rd party players and delivered games which were sub-standard compared to their Xbox/PS2 ports. The Nintendo 'classics' came too few and too late IMO.

Ocarina of Time was immense though

PS3's are a waste of money tbh.Ive had my wii for a month now and its great.Why the hell anyone would want to spend a week in spain on a console and then fork out 35-40 quid for a game is beyond me.But each to there own i guess.The wii is good because with a wireless conection you can download the games to your wii on a memory card for 15 quid,instead of 30 quid...

I just get fed up of the 'too expensive' crew when infact its a bargain!

it is getting rather annoying the lack of titles for the ps3. am starting to think i wish i'd have kept my xbox 360. only thing thats making me not swap back is it seems every game thats coming out in future (xmas time) is on both formats bar a few so might as well get it on ps3

Definatly, I had one myself. But the lack of 3rd party support and Lack of quality ninty games given the somewhat limited hardware means imo it failed.

Ocarina of time was N64, Wind waker was the Zelda outing on the GC.

GC has the best Starwars game ever bar none in RS2, the graphics, sound and gameplay have never been equalled let alone bettered (ie starwars game) I've kept it solely for that reason, had a lads night in recently & hooked it up to a 46" LCD with surround sound it was amazing

Once the new gta comes out on ps3 alot of ppl will have a reason to buy one, including me.

i managed to sell a wii for £190 at work yesterday, still sealed up with game reciept. also can get hold of aps3 for £300:rasp: (brand spankers), gotta have connections

I bought a Wii in January this year and sold it a week later as I wasn't very impressed. My PS3 I bought on release day is far better and used far more often than the Wii ever would have been. The PS3 is a bargain considering the various media uses it is capable of providing. Love it.

They are a bargain, and if Blu-ray 'defeats' HD-DVD I will buy one purely for the inbuilt Blu-ray player.

Problem is, most consumers look at price (if they don't know much about the products). My mates have gone 1 of 2 ways:
1) "The PS3 is more expensive so must be better so I'm buying one"
2) "I can't afford a PS3 so I'm getting an X360, they are both next gen consoles, there can't be much of a difference."

I've got a X360 and Wii, both purchased on launch day, and, atm, wouldn't swap either for a PS3!
