Will My Warranty Be Void Now

  Titanium Clio 182

Ive missed by 12,000 miles service by 2,000 miles. I cant afford the cost of the service either. What should i do?

actually they cant void your warranty for missing a service unless the failure is directly attributed to the missed service. if you cant afford it how about going somewhere cheaper like a normal garage not renault

get it done at a indy garage half the price, write a letter to reno with some sob story, you never know.....they might allo wthe warrenty to carry on with cetain exceptions... i.e the things that would be done on the service, anything associated with them are not covered by the warrenty till the next service interval etc...

moral of the story though, its not just buying a car.. its the running costs.....

Yep sorry but you get 1k grace.

If they give you 1k grace what about time wise? 1 months too?

*not an official idea*

Phone renault uk and tell them you were advised it was 18,000 miles between services and you have missed the service grace because of this.

Then ask if your warranty is still valid.

Then purchase the service parts (about £50 ish) and get the service done by a cheaper local place.

If you cant do this then id wave goodbye to warranty.

(BTW mine has had over £8000 worth of warranty work according to renault)

i bought my clio and its second service had been missed by 5k, One dealer i phoned said the warranty was void another said there was no problem,

Shop around mate.

Its not automatically void - my 172 didnt have its first service till 18k (not my fault!), then had over £2000s worth of warranty work carried out.

Personally I wouldnt do anything to draw attention to it. Renault dont hold a central register of whos had a service done at what mileage etc. Just get it serviced (anywhere) and if you get a problem down the line, take the car to your dealer and ask them to fix it.

u get 1000 miles grace as stated, what reno do is keep the warranty but make deductions on any work. IE they will pay upto 80%.

its right though, the number of Renault dealers that quote 18,000 miles for service you could easy "blag" renault into it.

The other way round - on my Si which had different servicing intervals, I had the free 6k mile safety check done then the dealer told me it needed servicing at 12k, when I went to pick the car up they tried to charge me as they said the service wasnt due till 18k and I refused saying it was them that told me it needed servcing at 12k. I got it free.

Youre driving a 182 but cant afford a service?

What else are you skimping on? Cheap fuel?

my girlfriends dynamic is on 26k and has only ever had one service which was carried out by my brother (all service parts from renault). anyway her clio broke down about a month ago and was towed to a renault garage and repaired (coil pack and spark plugs). all work was covered by warranty, according to their comupters it said it wasnt due a service for another 6 months.

Why have a 182 if you cant really afford it then? I love my car, but I had to wait a long time for it - I had a Ka for 2 years when I was skint..

Yeah my 172 costs me a whopping £100 a month but I know I can afford that without thinking.

Could afford more but no point, cant get anything I really want yet with the cash I have, but in a few years...

Some dodgy people in your shoes might goto a non Renault garage and ask them to write the wrong mileage in the book and service the car.
