Will this fail the MOT

Car  Jap Box
Pretty stupid question I think, but currently the car has 3 Dynamique alloys and 1 15" steel.

All wheels and tyres and same size etc, this wouldnt cause MOT failiure would it?

Would I also need a spare wheel which has decent tread left in the boot for the MOT

Thanks

Take the spare out. If theres no spare, theres nothing to test! ;)

Nope that'll be fine, also if your spare wheel has crap tread take it out, if it's not there they can't test it.

Ahhh great :)

The steel thats on is the spare I think so I was wonding if I actually needed another spare in there :rasp:

Also I know the car will fail on the back belts, would I be able to fold seats down so they technically would check them? Or would I need to take out back seats and belts completely?

you cant take them out as the car is MOTd as a 2 seater or a 4/5 seater car.

If you remove them the car is only MOTd as a 2 seater

yes as long as the size is the same, spare wheel in boot cant ever fail, its only an advisory item

This isn't a bait, but where on an MOT certificate does it state that a car is a 2/3/4/5 seater??

Hmmm thinking about it thats a good point, would double check if I could find my MOT cert for the PH1 but I seem to have mis placed it :(

if the car came into me with no rear seatbelts and no rear bench then it cant fail as theres nothing to test, i could pass a car without a windscreen ffs.

Ha ha, what about rear belts in but not bench or clips for the belts to go into?

i think i can fail it but dont quote me on that, would have to look it up

if belts are fitted but clips are removed that would be a fail cause if its there its got to work . have just checked my mot certificate it does not say anything about the number of seats/belts apart from if you had more than 8 seats fitted i.e a minibus

the spare wheel is not a testable item even if its in the car at time of test.

for the rear seat belts if you remove the rear seats then the seat belts are no longer a testable item.
if you fold the seats down the seat belts are still a testsable item.

I have actually done this. I removed the back seats after it failed due to a tiny, tiny fray in the seatbelt, i took it back and it passed. There is NO MENTION of the number of seats, nor the fact that i removed them. Spare wheel situation is - NO WHEEL - NO FAIL. This is fact
