Window winders

Im trying to fit some speakers into my doors but am having problems trying to get the window winders off, anyone enlighten me on how i can remove them and take the door cards off?

theres a centre-cap thingy in middle of each winder, pop this off with a screwdriver and this should reveal a screw attaching the winder to the mechanism. Hold the winder and unscrew the screw. Winder should then just pop off mate!

Not easy.. some come off really easy, some dont.

just looked it looks like a totaly sealed unit, so not sure will take a photo and see what you think

as cliodan says pull hard but also try rocking it about a bit when pulling

just gota copy of haynes and it says there is a clip on the back so will have to try and remove that.

Problem sloved, nice claw hammer and leavered it off
10 second job with the right tools

dont you find hammers can fix everything!!!

And if it doesnt fix it then you need a bigger hammer!!!!

You might find if you fit speakers, then the winder wont work? (if you use a speaker grill)

Those handles look like the ones Ive got, no other way than to pull them off. It will probably be easy or hard. You cant remove the door cards till youve removed the winder handles.

When fitting the speakers, make sure you align the speakers in exactly the right position, other wise your winder handles may hit the speaker grills.

Door cards removed, although when fitting them one of the clips that the card screw into bent so im going to have to pop to halfords tomorrow and pick up some more else i cant reattach my door handel doh!

Summy just spent all night in a tescos car park lol doing this install i can say it was fun but a bit chilly lol.
Securty kept walking past too but never came over.
Im quite supprised that no poice turned up and it looked like we were stripping the car for parts at one point.

we had 1/2 the dash off and the doors fitting in all the new wiring.
Still have to finish off the install tomorrow hope it all goes well.

Manged to get it all wired up and working just need to drill and mount the speakers into the doors now. The winders didnt hit the grills and the sound is so much nicer then those crappy standard speakers even with them not in the doors and just resting.
