Window Wipers stopped working (valver)

This morning on my way to work, just put the wipers on, and they went up about 3 inches and then stopped!

Thought it might have been the motor, but disconnected the plug, and the wipers could be pushed back down to the normal park postition.

Was working fine the other day - Any ideas on whats knackered on them?

Fuse? Faulty connection? There will also be a relay in the system somewhere, probably under the glovebox.

Look at the Haynes Manual electrical diagrams.

mine went once and it was where the wire wore down a bit and the bare cable was touching the bodywork, took ages to find it. but it could also be any of what ben h said.
