Microsoft are offering windows 7 upgrade (from windows vista)
for the grand total for £30.00.

One word of warning. If you are on a 32 bit system and you pick the 64 bit version of 7 it will not unpack. Will be left with useless files. So worth spending the extra £9 and ordering the CD. Can do full installs from the CD without having to run it as an upgrade.

Also go with the professional version. It is the same price but has all the features of home plus a fair bit more.

My copy arrived the other week. Didn't take long to come.

On that site above it has a link to show you what will be required. It tells you what you need to do from your version of windows (whatever that might be) to get the version of windows 7 you want. Sometimes you can upgrade and sometimes you need a fresh install.

Myself i had to fresh install as i went from 32bit vista to 64bit windows 7 so just used an external hard drive to back up.

Also I definitely 100percent recommend windows 7. Its awesome!

Just started rolling with the Windows 7 after I bugged my dad for the 30 quid student upgrade. Took a while to download and install but even after 10 mins of use I've got it sussed and, well, quite like it. Couldn't recommend the upgrade more.

Definitely! Major improvement in running speed over Vista. Boot time is considerably less as well.

Yep. Speed of everything is much improved. It needs the iPhone update test before I'm 100% convinced but hopefully it'll do it no worries!

I'd always recommend a clean install but you can run an upgrade from vista.

My Vista used to hate my iPisch. It'd never let me install an update onto it. Always synced, etc. just had some kind of fit whenever an update came out. Waiting for an update now to see if it'll let me download and install it.

Ahh I see. I've never had any problems with my 3GS and Vista. Can't do updates anyway now as its JB'd.
