That’s a shame. Isn’t the airfield now owned by a developer so perhaps less keen to support aviation focussed activities for more lucrative alternatives?

I was reading at some point last year that Epping District council owns the land there, and that they sold a part of it to Google, for a them do build there a data centre, but they were saying it will still remain an aerodrome

As above, I’m sure I read that too, and they are going to use the money to build a new control tower and fire station, but keep the old one due to historical importance

So they sold some part of the airfield to google. Which is not on the airfield side but the other side. The entry to the airfield is going to move and they are building a new control tower and security gate.

A lot of people are moving away from the airfield as they are putting up the cost of the rent of a hangar.
Some of the guys I know have already moved their aircraft.
