now this is going to be a difficult one

you need to get a feed from the alt but on the signal side (the same signal for the batt light on the dash)

hey mate
every thing i am using to do this boot realse was nicked off a old escort. as it had a nice push button with a picture of a boot on it

i got it from a scrap yard in ipswich . ( it fell in to my pocket only noticed when i got home :) )

might look into doing this myself sometime, doesnt sound like a bad idea and something ive always thought the clio is lacking.

On my mk1 clio wasnt hard to wire in. only thing i found hard was feeding the wire in to the boot. but got there in the end :) wires follow the Rear window washer pipe

on a phase 2 clio, simply use the stock central locking solenoid, wired to a push to make switch on your dash. I got a live from my ciggie lights and my earth goes into my earth block for my install.

Some kits use relays etc etc, I just used wire and a switch, ona phase 2, it shouldnt cost you more than £5 for a switch and some wire. Admitidly I had some stainless steel push to make switches made which were about £10, but to make a push button boot release tha tworks when the ignition is on is very easy.

However does anyone know how ican make it work when the ignition is off?
