wireless keyboard and mouse worth it?

  Audi S3 225
are they any good, ive never had a wireless keyboard or mouse before. Reason im asking is because my keybaord is a cheap one that came with the computer its black and the buttons are fading, plus the mouse seems to be on its way out, even when i clean it.

seen a few microsoft packages with mouse and keybaord wireless for about 20 quid, here http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...m9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=88758&_LOC=UK dont want anything fancy, but i heared wireless isnt very good for online gaming, any truth here?

Thanks

Allan

wireless is more hassle than its worth, unless it comes with a charging station and bluetooth

ya thats what i was thinking, bet the cheap ones need batterys, dont think ill get wireless, ill stick to wired, are the ball-less mice any good, or should i again stick to the standard mouse with a ball?

yeah dont go wireless lol, get a optical mouse as they are more precise and much better than mice with balls lol

I use an M$ Intellimouse. Quite good, 5-way scroll button is the mutt's nuts. Eats batteries though.

Never tried a wireless keyboard, never seen the point.

just tried an optical mouse and it was crap, think it doesnt work well on shiney desktop surfaces, dam it, ill buy a mouse with balls then.

edit - that optical mouse i tired is an old one like 2 years old, are the new ones better on different surfaces, really wanna get an optical mouse, but need it to work on my desktop, dont wanna use a mouse mat.

I've got a wireless optical mouse which works great but eats batteries.

I've just purchased a Saitek Eclipse Keyboard (from ebyer) which has blue light shining through the keys (not just around the keys) which is the daddy for playing at night, quality keyboard. Also check out Ebuyer quick code 100869, a rather nice aliminium keyboard form Hyper. Both wired though, but unless you need to have the keyboard on your lap etc, just stick with a wireless mouse.

My Wireless Optical mouse used loads of batteries.

Now got a Logitech Laser mouse which is mint. When the battery meter goes down to red, I just dock it and it charges again.. much better.

I wouldn't get a wired keyboard/mouse again now..

LOL - I totally agree but in the opposite! I HATE wireless devices - all this recharging crap and driver issues when you need things done at the BIOS level.

I've tried them and hated them - both keyboards and mice. Nothing better than asking the other 31-players on Battlefield 2 to hang fire while you recharge your mouse. Unfortunately, like most things if the look 'cool' they sell, meaning wired devices are rapidly becoming a thing of the past. POOH! ;)

:rasp:
They are just USB, so a BIOS supporting USB Keyboard/Mouse - they just work!

As for recharging, I have a battery meter.. when it gets down to red, I dock it overnight.. it lasts 2 weeks+ anyway!

Gaming tho, wired is probably better, altho, wireless is getting there.
I really do like my Laser MX1000 tho ;)

Have a dell wireless keyboard and mouse, as i actually need wireless, as my desktop is my bed. lol. Have had no problems with them what so ever. They both run on batteries, which i have yet to change in 4 months. Only use 2 AA batteries in each device. My Pc is used more or less soley for gaming and have yet to have any problems with playing games with them. If you actually need wireless than go for it. However it seems that at the moment people are just going wireless so they can say that their wireless, when theres really no need for them to be.

Tried a wireless keyboard and mouse and the MX1000 responds a lot worse than my MX510 mouse. As i was thinking of getting one tried my mates and could see it on screen that fact it was lagging slightly was enough to annoy me at the time so said b****cks to it.

Most people it wont bother but i could see skipping. Its like TFT screens loads of people love them i cant stand them i have yet to see a TFT that beats my £100 monitor display.
