Wiring into dashboard lights

  133, 182, Kangoo 182
Has anybody had experience with wiring things into the dashboard lights so that they are powered whenever lights are on?

To be more specific, I have a volt gauge that I only want lit up when the rest of the lights are on.

How about... wiring it into your remote turn on so its only on when your amp is on, but have it on a switch. then you can have it on/ off when you like. Will be easier than wiring it into the lights i think.:)

Well my choice is either wire it to the same power source so whenever the electrics are on it's lit up, or wire it to that and also to the lights so it's on, but only lit up when the dash board lights up.

May just do that though.. wont be hard to change.

Switch was considered for a second but that would just get annoying. :)

Just tap into the cigarette light.

I wired some CCFL's in footwells, and used a transistor to switch them on from this light on the lights. Got it wrong way around first time, but a bit more fun on wiki solved it ;)

Hm, do you mean the light in the ash tray?

Interesting..

Edit - if that is the case (I'll test it in a mo' too) then sorted. Will try and do it tonight. :)

Yeh, Best i could describe it sorry. For some led's you only need a pap transistor, or heavy loads just use a transistor to power a relay!
