S3, Polo
Mine are a bit corroded and in the spirit of refreshing my 172 and keeping it perfect and serviceable, I want to replace them.
bolt - 7703002700 - £7.01 x4 (£28.04)
washer - 7703053987 - £1.78 x4 (£7.12)
locking nut - 7703032158 - 94p x4 (£3.76)
nut - 7703034248 - £2.32 x2 (£4.64)
£43.56 + VAT (discounted price, from Renault) seems quite a considerable sum for 4 bolts, 4 washers and 6 nuts?
I realise that they're probably special, high-tensile steel bolts and the nylock nuts have been blessed with mermaid tears but are they of such a specific design (with specific stretch properties, for example) as to not be available elsewhere?
I have an engineering firm near me that specialises in automotive fixings - Can anyone let me know what I would need to ask for? (size, steel grade, thread pitch, etc.)?
