Wishbones

  Clio 172
Sorry if this has been covered, i have been seaching for an hour with no luck. :S

I have a phase 2 172 none cup, and want to fit the cups wishbones to widen the track.

Are they a direct replacement? and what is the part number so i can get some ordered.

Cheers,

Don't think they will widen track, but will increase your castor, worth fitting cup ones if your replacing them anyway, but wouldn't say it's worth replacing them just for the castor.

Cup track is wider due to different offset wheels, and some people also say due to different bolt spacing where the wishbones fit onto the subframe (not measured that myself though so cant comment), but the wishbones themselves are not any wider.

We all know the Cup stub-axle bearing holder is different to non cup , so isn't the wider track incorporated in the stub-axle then , hence the longer steering arm required also to suit ?
Someone tell me I'm chatting s**t.

No, I measured cup and non cup and the distance from drive flange to ball joint is exactly the same.
In fact the whole hub appeared to be the same in fact, same casting at least although the holes may have been drilled slightly different to effect camber I suppose, that wasnt something I was measuring for at the time.

In fact the couple of hub ones I have had, have actually had the ABS sensor hole in them too, which implies even more its the same part.
