Wolfs Chemicals- De-Ironiser

So I've been lurking around more and more on detailingworld, always been into paint correction but not much else on the maintenance side of things.

Had been reading a few write-ups and it seems people were starting to use the likes of Iron-X and Wolfs De-Ironiser on bodywork etc. So I made the purchase of 1 litre of wolfs chemicals De-Ironiser.

I first tried this out on Craig172's supercharged sunflower, sprayed it on the lower halfs of the car and the tailgate. Left it for five minutes then it came out in a purple rash :D Needless to say it did a great job and minimised the deposits left when claying.

So as my car and craigs car were both low on coilovers they seem to suck up everything onto the rear of the car, maybe something to do with the Aerodynamics, who knows. I felt this was a perfect oportunity to showcase the product. I sprayed this on after a thorough wash, left it for 10 minutes.

Sorry the pics are from Iphone, I lost my camera for a few days :(

I would highly recommend this to anyone planning on even polishing there car by hand, the less things stuck to your paint the better, especially if you collect a small particle in your applicator. Please also take on board this was experimented on a car that hasn't seen a clay bar in its life but does get cleaned regularly

Looks just like iron x. Great product. My car was covered in bits. Must have been following a car on track too closely. On certain colours this stuff is a must IMO. It doesn't take that much effort rob ;)

What's the cost of it? Did the floor go a lovely purple when you rinse it. Smell?

It's attacking the iron that's penetrated the clear coat. It's also ph neutral so no nasty chemicals or anything.

My wheels should be fun when I use it on mine! My Alcon's seem to shed dust for the lolz! FUUUUUUUUUU!

Oh yes, I forgot about the smell... think of the worst smell in the world and then add vomit on top. You're not even close.

Oh and this is the improved version! Iron x smells even worse.

It looks like Iron-x because it is. If my findings on Detailing world are correct the guy who has the username Wolfs Chemicals is from Hungary and called Jesse. He was testing the Aquartz/Iron-x stuff out and slagging it off at one point..then all of a sudden Wolfs chemicals stuff appeared. Rather odd.

I need to get me some of this. Im tempted with the wolfs stuff over the smell of Iron-X.

Don't open/use/decant in the house please!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and ironx is not de-ironizer. De-ironizer is brake duster, it was a wheel cleaner mate it just happened to do the same job for cheaper. I'm not saying he didn't use ingredients but they are different.

Wolf's also clings to the paintowork and can be left for days safely. Iron x can't be left to dry!

I'm happy with the above product tbh, I'm in search of some wheels that are caked in brake dust just to give this a try. I've got a 350z in ATM for paint correction but dont think the wheels are in a bad enough state to attack them with this

Wolf's works best after the wheels have been cleaned using a normal wheel cleaner then use the brake duster. It loses it's effectiveness by talking the dirt first and then the pits last.

Same with paint. Get it well degreased and washed then tardis and wash again then use Wolf's. That way you're getting the full force of the product.

Yeah I did it that way with Craigs charged sunflower, tardis then wolfs after a good wash. I've used wheel cleaners in the past, namely billberry and tbh I dont think it does anything, people say spray it onto dirty wheels without pre-rinsing. However if you just rinse them, let them dry and then apply billberry it does nothing.

My point being it takes nothing extra away from the surface than any ordinary rinse technique would

Huh! Wheel cleaner isn't really meant to be sprayed on and left. That's what wheel brushes are for.

Autobrites brite gel is one of the best i've used to be honest. Billberry isn't a patch on it.

Sorry mate that's not what I meant.

I meant you can't actually see it doing any sort of work before you start cleaning it with brushes/mitts etc. I may try some of the autobrite gel as I havent really found a good wheel cleaner yet

Iron X is definitely more potent than Decon Gel. I was a little disappointed in it when used on a Jag S-Type which I did last weekend. Iron-X seems to remove MUCH more first time...

Now now. We don't want any DW heated discussions ;)
