Worth Getting A Dealer Service

Just a quick query, I have a clio 172 Sport (02) which is now out of warranty. My mileage is now on around 17000, is it really worth me paying out of my ass for a Renault Service now that my warranty is up. Wouldnt i just be better off getting one of my mates who has a garage do it for me? Do you think it depreciates the value of the car. Your views would be appreciated as its well overdue!

I would go local!

Dealers suck. but when you have a warranty they are needed.

^^ not true.

You do not have to have your car serviced at a dealer in order to keep your warranty, all parts replaced during a service must however meet with Renaults guidelines.

Hey mate,

Ive got a mrk1 172 with 35k on the clock, out of warrenty. asked reno how much for the service + aux belt change. said they wanted £220 for the service and £200 approx for the belt. Went to a guy i know how works in local subaru dealership got all the parts for £50 + £60 for to new front tyres (Rainsports) and £50 labour. sorted+ Its got the booked stampted by subaru.

So in other words dont go to reno just pop in and ask one of their mechanics will do a homer!!

probably best to ask around. What area are you from, and have you looked in the dealer section for any locals?

Im from newcastle, i know people with reputable garages, not like subaru etc but garages that would do a good job but cheap. I could do it myself to be quite honest but i would rather provided the Oil and get it done properly.
