WTF Is Wrong With My Willy!!!





Just got a new clutch fitted, and it feels 10 times lighter, I thought willy clutches were suppose to be quite hard???

Everytime i put it in reverse, it makes a cunching noise..well not a crunching noise, more like a screaming noise. I dont wanna ruin my Gearbox and clutch so i have to keep turning the engine off, put it into reverse and then switch it back on just to reverse.

Does anyone know wot the problem is cos its pissing me off!!! :mad:

Is my gearbox on the way out? If so how much will it cost to sort out?

hmmm clutches on valvers an willys over time get harder as they get worn but there quite stiff anyway (lol, willys, harder an stiff in one sentance an no referance to sex lol)

they always crunch into reverse usually engaging first then reverse helps

it mite jus be the linkage needs adjusting before u think about a new box

Ive doing the First and reverse trick many times, left it depressed awhile, u name it, ive probably done it, and still no joy :(

Sounds to me like your clutch is "binding" and not disengaging properly when you press the clutch fully home. Are all the forwards gears OK? Perhaps the clutch is not adjusted properly which could explain the light action?
 


Yeah, the forwarding gears are ok, sometimes, i have to put it into 2nd then i can get it in first.

Just spoke to Paul, he recommends getting a new pedal, so im gonna do that, and pray to the man upstairs that itll be sorted.

Yeah, I had a clutch, cable then pedal lol. Its ok now!

The pedals wear on the mechanism and mine was only just engaging the clutch if u pushed the pedal really hard to the floor. ok after a new pedal.
 


Could be beer ? when my willy gives up on me it usually the beer !! (should use unleaded really !!)

Yeah clutch aint disengauging fully, get it adjusted, i.e play with self adjuster (do a search of forum, as somebody posted on how to make it adjust), wont crunch on forward gears as they all have syncromesh, whereas reverse does not
