xbox 360

Probably a lone voice here but wait for the Nintendo Wii. Shaping up to be an awesome piece of kit, cheap too. Best thing is you actually get lots and lots of new games, not remakes/sequels/graphical updates sold to punters at £20 more than the same thing on the "old" console.

No way are you a lone voice. I shall be buying Zelda on Cube and Wii.

If I'm a fanboy of any console it's anything Nintendo. It just puts a smile on my face.

PS3 will succeed because they have a massive usebase with the PS2, they have GT HD and MGS exclusively and you ask the average bloke in the street which he'll buy it's the PS3.

As far as I'm concerned MS are getting it so right with the 360, they make life so easy for developers too. I even have my MS X360 Account manager on my MSN and XBL friends list. lol

I own an xbox360 its good but not brill its a big step over the xbox but that dont take much doing, the games are slow in coming out and there very expensive.

I only like racing games and to be onest theres nothing better then GT4.

The PS3 is very expensive and the games for that arnt gonna be that good with GT5 being the same as GT4 but HD and with naff bikes.

PS2 is still the daddy.

Have to admit I'm tempted by the 360 for the racing games, Test Drive Unlimited is looking awesome. I generally ever only play driving games if I'm not doing the usual 'alternative' thing on my DS/Gamecube.

sorry but nintendo games are for kids and people who live in japan.

for English adults, it just so has to be a Xbox or playstation, aimed at adults and not all these silly japanese games that have no point.

You have no idea do you. lol

Some of the greatest games of all time have been on Nintendo hardware only. Any true gamer will mention Zelda Ocarina of Time as one of the greatest games of all time. Res Evil 4 was hardly a kids game. Mario Kart, Goldeneye, Diddy Kong Racing, Metroid, Castevania the list goes on and on.

Have you seen the console sales chart. The Nintendo DS sells more than most of the top 5 put together!!

really considering 360. only reason i ever play ps2 is cos of GT4. Case of been there done that.

360 holds bit more appeal cos of the unkown, the online gameing GRAW looks awsome! i aint even really into that type of game but im sure I could come round. Roll on me birthday!!!

sorry but out of that lot, the only decent adults game is goldeneye IMO, I liked mariokart as a kid but seriously, none of the other nintendo games impress me whatsoever, i just don't like them.

Just because they are the top of some chart, doesn't mean adults like to play them, the gaming market is massive in the kids world, even if its their parents that buy them, they still can be for the kids, and in japan the nintendo rules and xbox is a niche product, i just am not into kids games or games designed for a japanese market and i think the majority of male adults living in the UK would agree with me.

I guess someones got to like them though ;)

Dave go back to selling spreadsheet software and leave the games to those who know.;)

It doesn't matter what age bracket a game is aimed at, good games are good games. The view you have means you will miss out on some amazing titles.

lol, fight! I have to admit this one has got me going... ;)

My argument would be that Nintendo games are, in the main, proper games. An escape from reality where you can enjoy yourself, they are not about fancy marketing, stupendously "good" graphics and impressing your mates, they are real honest to goodness games that put gameplay and having fun above all else. There seems to be a slowly growing shift in that direction too, against all odds the DS has performed despite the PSP and is posting some of the silliest sales figures I've ever known in gaming terms, you would be surprised at how many adults own them too.

The majority of UK adults follow the latest trend and are drawn in by huge marketing campaigns. If some of them actually sat down and played on a DS instead of a PSP for example, and didn't care what their mates thought etc etc, I think you would find that many would be converted within minutes.

You may not like them but dismiss them altogether because they are supposedly "kiddy" games is like dismissing classic Disney films because you've grown up. Having an open mind about such things had led to me discovering Hayao Miyazaki's movies, truely some of the greatest films I've ever seen...even if they are animated and generally feature children.

You should see our office at lunch times. We've had groups of us sat around playing WiFi Mario Kart DS and Tetris! Pure innocent fun, except for the language "you f**king wanker blue shelling me".

^^^ quality. Me and the missus have DS' so often have a wi-fi game when apart, Tetris is the new game of choice but you can't beat a bit of Mario Kart.

Hate those blue shells, evil.

Most the office are playing Battlefield 2 at lunch at the moment. I played a bit of Liberty City stories on PS2 instead. Back to Call of Duty 2 when I get home though.

When the Gameboy Advance came out we used to play Mario Kart with the link cable at lunch. lol

Is it? Looks like a weekend of GRAW for me :)

Having said that £11 for a few addons is a bit steep.

first time i have dug deep and bought some MS points but from the list of things you get, its quite substantial and a bit like buying one of those addon PC games packs really. We will see whether its worth it but i hope so.

Plus I have some points left over so I might get the PGR3 addon now too.

*edit* Doh, had 300 points left over and its 400 points for the PGR3 addon so i've had to buy some more, now i've got used to these points I might cost myself a lot of money!

It's a but annoying that the PC version of GRAW receives an update for free.

I'm not sure you get enough in this update to justify paying £11-£12 for it. Basically 4 new co-op campaign maps as the rest of it is fairly minor stuff.
