xenon headlight problem

Hi

I've just recently bought a 2002 clio 172 and having abit of problems with one of my xenon headlights, it worked perfectly when i had just bought it but then it started to flciker and then just turned off all together. I seeked advice from a friend of mine who works for renault and he said could be the ignitor so i bought a new one of them tried that, the light sort of came on but was very dim then literally within a day went off all together again. Really dont know what could be wrong with it as this is my first renault and first experience with these xenon headlight set up
