xenon HID conversion

Oh dear lol.
Yeah, I'd say that the kit Justin has looks ever-so-slightly more purple than the standard ph2. So, to answer your question luke, the 6000k kit is probably close to the BMW colour. The Renault colour is very blue.
Justin, what are they like at night for driving compared to the ph2? Similar I'd imagine? I read that the higher up the scale you go, the lower the light output?
perhaps mine look ever so slightly more blue than ph 2 172's.
To be honest they are the same as my ph 2 for driving, people say they get flashed etc, didnt get flashed in my ph 2 nor have a been flashed in my ph 1 with them on.
Yeh if you go to something silly like 8k , 10k or even 12k ( they are solid purple lol ) then you loose light.
I was advised not to get the 4300k kit due to being an aftermarket kit its just too bright, the 6k kit was i good comprimise over the oem look and extra light.

There are long discussions about these kits if you do a search, just type HID in the search box.
(oem) use different reflectors so as not to cause dazzle. The car must have self levelling headlights, so as not to cause dazzle, it must also have headlight washers, so as not to cause dazzle....
Can you see a theme running through those requirements....

It is true that legally for you to have an HID system you must have a washer jet, however we have sold hundreds of these kits, worldwide sold we are talking millions of kits from other suppliers, and I know of only one which did not pass the mot and that was apparantly someone on this forum. I have checked a couple of weeks ago and there was no directive to fail HID light systems from VOSA, however I cant see all those owners going back to standard, all they will do is replace the HID bulb with a standard to pass the MOT and then go back to the HID. This is basically the same as a member fitting a decat pipe to his car and putting the cat back for the mot, except a lot easier.

The fact remains, Cars fitted with these kits pose a risk to other road users and are illegal.
How you go about breaking the law or circumnavigating the MOT test requirements is up to you. But encouraging others is an entirely different matter.
The fact you are even recommending a way to do just that, just confirms that you know there is a problem with these kits, otherwise why would you need to make such a statement.
Misleading advertising and taking peoples money in the process, is a trading standards matter and a "Sale of goods Act 1979" offence.
Anyone caught and prosecuted for using these lights has a very substantial right of complaint and recourse at law against the supplier under that act.
The fact that a large number of these kits have been sold proves nothing, other than the odds of someone being prosecuted for selling them, are shortening all the time they continue to sell them.

Thank you for your comments, I would like to clarify , I am an honest trader and in no way am I breaking the law or encouraging people to break the law at all, for my own car which does have HID `s fitted, I had an MOT at the end of January which passed straight through without removing any bulbs and replacing at a proper Bona fide MOT testing station, at present I am unaware it is illegal to sell them, at a point when it is illegal I will stop selling them for I have a good repuation of being of honest and law abiding person, as members on here have experienced already. I do take your points on board, if there is a law saying it is illegal to sell them please point me in that direction and I will rectify the present situation. As for my comparison, it was in no way a recommendation that any person do this, just purely the lengths to which owners will go to fit certain parts to their cars.
