Xenons!!

  E60 diesel powah
Right ive been thinking for a long time is it possible to have the xenons switch on auto once unlocking the car.

After speaking to jordan(f0xy) were wondering what colour wire is the headlights on the stalk once taken apart, and how much current goes through???

Any advice/info would be appreciated

Could find out on the stalk wire colour if you want/need it, shouldn't have a very high current passing through it as it only goes to pull the relay in on the UCH for the lights. The bigger current is dealt with by the relay hence why it uses one.

There are plenty of aftermarket alarms which can be setup to do this afaik, take it your after a similar thing to newer mercs etc where the lights come on when you unlock the car so you can find it or whatever?

Like having remote headlights on the Clifford Alarms?

Mine had that, but only worked for about 30mins after the car was locked.
been told the Renaults go into "sleep mode", so the remote lights wouldn't come on if I was to activate them after the car sat e.g. overnight. Once I pressed the keyfob to unlock the doors - the car comes out of this so-called sleep mode.

Was more of a novelty anyway to be honest :star:

would be gd if you could get it working. On the new fiesta's the side lights come on when you unlock, so xenons would be even better.

wouldnt be wise turning xenons on as they would dump the battery why not use the fog lights like the merc's

have you seen the cars now? when turning left the left fog comes on and etc on the right :dead:

looks stupid as i think, but unlocking the car and ur fogs come on kool idea! means u can find ur car easier in a dark car park lmao

HID's wouldn't dump the battery as once they're lit they draw very little current. The initial start up would be the biggest drain but it's only the same as switching the lights on with the ignition turned off.

I have been thinking about this also, but maybe not to light the HID's :)
