Sorry to hear about your mate. If you don't mind me asking what was his name? My mum and dad live on firwood park and I was living there at the time of this. That bend is very deceiving it gets sharp quite quick, I know someone who totalled there M3 on the bend just a bit further up as you come under the bridge

Billy Darren Cooney.

Its a horrible bend. I refuse to drive it now. instead i come off, go round past all the business park, and then drive back onto broadyway. and firwood park? you don't happen to know Alex Hampson (formerly Jones because he took his dads name back) or any of the Gregory family.

Some pretty bad crashes here...

Mines not something I'm proud of but I have certainly learnt from it.

Started out as a low milage, mint 182 only missing it's splitter...

Thankfully now the council have made the road a lot safer as it's a stupidly tight 90 degree bend and had no signs to warn people. It was my fault, thankfully I was on my own and no one was hurt. It's amazing how much damage can be caused t 20mph. A BMW driver did the exact same thing the following night and caused even more damage

My friend who unfortunately isn't with us anymore but not because of the crash had one of the worst accidents I've ever seen or heard about and walked away from
It, focus st driver over took him on a country road with banks either side, didn't have enough room as another car was coming so planted it into the front of my mates car sending him up the bank at 60 through someone's back Garden taking the fence, conservatory and water feature with him, then came back down the bank upside down, still fully lit and up rooted a few tree's and 2 parked cars, was literally nothing left of his fiesta, very very lucky boy!

I failed the mention the brick wall had already been knocked down the night before by another driver. He destroyed the wall but his car was stopped at the top. The council had been alerted and failed to grit the street even though they had promised they would do so. If the wall had been there, I would have shunted it and that would probably have been it, however it wasn't so I ended up going through the gap he'd made. I'm not blaming anyone else btw, I'm just stating the facts

I'm yet to see a crash thread where someone comes clean without caveat or proviso.

"I was tear-assing through some village when I hit some ice and barrel-rolled into the churchyard lolz"

There always seems to be some mitigating circumstance that the OP hopes will abolish them of all responsiblity for the incident. Diesel seems to be the current favourite, or councils not making their roads arrow-straight.

I once crashed a Micra, which I had chopped the roof off 5 mins previous, it wasn't on public roads but in a field. I crashed straight into a shed lol Having your own land ftw, wish I hadn't got rid of it, I miss the shed too.

The name Cooney rings a bell, sure i'd recognise a pic. No don't know Alex Hampson, I know Jenna Gregory though, is this same Gregory family, if so went school with her sister Carlene.

I attempted to "chase a cossie" down a main road in my XR2i once. 80mph, punto pulled out on me, then slammed on, blocking both lanes.........

I walked away unscathed, thank god.

Honesty is the best policy on CS crash threads.

CS police & inquisition will always get to the truth

Who was to blame in the eyes of the insurance company mate. Forgetting the speeding part the Punto would have been to blame surely.

aye, punto driver failed to heed the traffic on the major road when emerging from a minor road

At least that Fiesta has metal wings. Imagine if they had been plastic. Instant death IIRC.

Yeah, i wouldnt like to have a crash in my clio TBF. It would just obliterate itself.

I thought that fez stood up quite well to the impact really. The punto, on the other hand, didnt. His roof was kinked up like a hosue roof, and the wing, door and rear quarter were all stoved right in.

88ft skid marks as measured by the police, lol
