Just to update that I've decided against the Clio in the end - going to try an r53 mini as they have a lot of tuning potential and relatively trouble free.

If that's the case can't you just get a set of four of the cheaper ones, sell on the pair of part worns from your car that still have some life in them, then at least everything will be even front and backs... Different front and rear profiles on a car that should have the same will look daft...
Well this has gone rather slowly as I was getting tempted by a mini as they look really cool but I've been reading up on them and decided against it now so on with the hunt...
New cylinder head? Did they say what was wrong and why it needed a new one?
The more I read about these cars the more I think they are just crap - sorry - it doesn't even seem to be down to how it was looked after or full service history etc as they still go wrong even if they have ALL that...

Why would cylinder 2 go? Is it common? What did the mini guy recon was causing it?
Must admit I was getting tempted by a mini instead of a Clio but not so sure....
