I've found that Renault parts direct offer the best price on this, seeing as it's for a car I've sold I don't want the come back from poor quality parts.

Im after a front wheel bearing for a 172 cup.
Euro car parts want £55+vat!
Renault parts direct want £45 inc vat.
I think this is a bit on the pricey side tbh. Has anyone found a cheaper place?
You can use everything from a phase 1 172, subframe, brakes ect...
Even using the whole wiring from the 172, just change the wiring plugs on the lights to suit the mk1.
No need to get the immobiliser removed from the ecu then.
My mate had his r32 stolen. The keys were in his jeans pocket at the bottom of the bed, whilst he was asleep!
If they want the car they will take it at any exspence.
If a car means that much to you, get a tracker installed, it's money well spent if the worst happens.
Does anyone know if Renault would have a record of the services carried out by themselves in the early days of the cars life?
If so, is this possible to obtain a print out?
There is only the odd receipt, in the wallet.
I carried out a major service in 2013, belts and clutch, water pump, all fluids changed etc.... All receipts for the parts are present for this.
I've recently bought a 172 cup from a mate, ive serviced this car since 2010 for him.
There is no service book, to back up any of the previous maintenance. The car has covered 88k and is in good running order.

Maybe it would be worth looking for a new engine? There cheap enough if you feel yours is over worked?
as for oil pressure dropping when hot that's normal, as the oil thins out. Maybe try a thicker garage oil for the summer use.

Sounds like the immobiliser isn't coming off, have you tried leaving the ignition on for a minute so the key can register with the decoder ring. Then try starting it?
Have had a look at a Megane 225 this evening witch wont start.
The problems started when the car went in to limp mode. It was then taken to a supposed Renault specialist, who diagnosed the fault to be the throttle body.
This then opened a can of worms, with the throttle body replaced it bought...
The car starts fine and even drives for a little while. When its revved above 4k the warning light which looks like a box with a squiggle through it illuminates. the car then wont rev over 3k and stalls when coming to idle. When started up again ticks over at 3k!
