Well i fitted front and rear to mine. The peddle is a bit stiffer; can I tell the difference?
No.
No doubt they are doing something but I don't go on track and the time when I've driven it hard the brakes do there job well.
Bleeding is easy as well. Just get some one to press the peddle...
They are a piece of p*** to do. You only need to jack up the passenger side of the car to do it. It will take literally 10 minutes to do.
If you not confident with the spanners though then let some one else give it a go. If you watch them do it you will see just how easy it is.
If i was you i would take it to RS Tuning in Leeds. You get the stamp in the book and from somebody who has a good reputation amoungst the Renault sport community.
Don't think it will be much.
Very good site.
I like that fact that you have broken it down into nice neat sections. My only recommendations would be to perhaps have some more photos on there; maybe showing various setups (different coilover units, brakes packages, etc).
An article on tyres would be good. Not just Track...
there isn't anything for that price that will be just as good as the michelins.
Contisport contact 2 or goodyear eagle f1 GSD 3.
Remeber its the only part in contact with the road; don't skimp on them
Phew.
When i had my new exhaust fitted the mechanic said that he had spotted that it was missing and mentioned that it might be an idea to get one fitted.
thanks fellas
Could anybod give me a rough idea of how much a load valve compensator spring and rod are from Renault. Its to adjust how much brake pressure is applied to the rear. Mine is missing it.
It's for a 172 Cup if there is any difference between models (i doubt it though).
Part numbers would be a big...
No.
It is when you are just pootling around but when it gets to about 3000rpm it is quite loud. when you drive it hard it sounds lovely, its very addictive.
It's very well made though and you don't need to get anything else to fit it. It comes with all the clamps, hangers and cat to middle...
Dont bother. it just makes the induction sounds louder.
A total waste of time to be honest. if you want to se what its like without removing everything just open up your air box, remove the filter and using a screwdriver;leaver up the plastic catch that holds the acoustic valve tube into the...
There isn't much room under the bonnet and in order to get to the belts; lots of bits need to be taken off and it is a big job plus if it goes wrong then it's going to be expensive to fix!
I have neither the tools or the confidence to do the belts (or the time really (8hs!)).
Before i got the...
Its just the usual wear and tear really. The exhaust falls off because they are so thin, its not a big deal really. Its also cheaper to get a stainless one than a Renault one so it won't happen again if (when!) it does.
Other bits are easy to replace yourself. In fact the only job that i...
This is a bit of a b**ch to move. On the cup it isn't to bad as there isn't any AC in the way.
You need a 16mm spanner / socket. if you can't get at it properly then you need to undo the engine mount on the left hand side and jack the engine up so you can get at it.
Take your time with it and...
This looks brilliant and at that price a bargain.
Bung a fitting guide in with them and you will sell a set to every person on here almost!
Good work fellas!
Just look for the usual things. the biggest thing is the cambelt. if its 5 years old or approaching 36k then both the cambelt and aux belt needs to be replaced and it is expensive (£400 - £500 indy / £800+ at a dealership).
it should pull like a train from 4000 upwards and if it wanders about...
My engine light came on last week
(the one on the right hand side of the dash. NOT the one that says stop on)
I bought the fault code reader and it tells me that the code is 0101 - MAF / VAF A circuit Range/Performance?
I reset the light, the car runs fine, hasn't gone into "Safe mode"...
Did you have a look under the bonnet?
Check that all the shut lines are correct, that the chassis legs are straight. check for signs of new stuff being present in the engine bay (newer that the rest). Also check the oil the proper way, using the dipstick.
Have a look underneath the car...

Give this guy a ring. He fitted a Toad AI606 alarm to my old saxo and did a very professional job, fitted it in about 2 hours at my house.
He's called Ian and is a top bloke. he will be able to help you. No problem
Would it be possible to make a carbon 172 MK1/Espace V6 airbox?
This would be something i would be very interested in as would perhaps the clio cup racers as they use the same thing.
This could be an alternative to the ITG Maxogen kit
thanks for the help. going to get conti sports instead.
PE2 are impossible to find, i must have rung at least 20 places today and nobody can get hold of them
I'm wondering if anybody has considered creating a heatshield for the standard induction system?
I've seen some photos of the K & N 57i induction kit that comes with some kind of L shaped heatshield. this is exactly the kind of thing im thinking of. but basically it would run along the battery...
