182 second belt change?

  RS Clio 182
I had both my belts done in 2009 when my 182 was on 38,000 miles....now 3 years later its just hit 72,000 miles - whats the rule on a 2nd belt change?

  Whichever has fuel
yours will need doing 72,000 miles / 5 years from the last time it was changed.

So about 110k or 2014.

  Now Sold :-(
But i had both done in 2009 - wont they be due at the same time again?

No. Aux belt is every 36k miles or three years and cam belt every 72k miles or five years.

I'm in the exact same position as you.
Had a cam and aux belt change in 2009. Due an aux belt in June/July but am tempted to get both done and not have to worry for another three years.
I know if I just get the Aux belt done after another 12 months I will be so worried about the cam belt snapping I'll be booking it in again for a another full set anyway.

Just looked at Renault's fixed price service and its £400 for both belts - are they recommended or would an independant specialist do a better job?

Most renault dealers dont do it properly, pay one of the specialists on here, they honestly charge peanuts considering how much of a t**t of a job it is!

I have changed my fair share of them and I can honestly say it is long hard work
