Tbh, this guy is selling a bit of a nail of a car, but he isn't trying to dupe any of you! Give him a break, the advert isnt misleading in any way (clearly states spares/repair) so let him get on with it. If you want to buy a cheap car that has been abused for track etc then go for it, if you don't then STFU tbh. Just my view on it.

Any car you buy 2nd hand, will state spares or repair on the receipt. It's just how it's done.

If it's not really fit for the road, you should put 'for salvage only'

You must buy some lovely cars?

Mat.

this! even my old shitter Mk1's were never sold to me as spares or repair lol! I think you might be talking about "sold as seen". Implies a slightly different thing.

You are really clutching at straws on this one aren't you. It is spares or repairs, not salvage. Oh and for what it's worth it has just failed its test on 1 front tyre, CV boot and no cat...... Hardly salvage.

Ordered new tyre and second hand CAT today. It is in the MOT garage (GOOD GARAGE SCHEME AFFILIATED) now having the CV boot done and a oil seal on the gear box. And a full service...

Salvage....... No.

roffle. Sounds about ready to be weighed in mate ;)

At least you will have 12 months MOT on it now. You will definitely get more interest/money? for it like that.

The garage that MOT'd it, it wasn't cheap as we changed the water pump and aux belts and tensioners. £320 in parts alone :dead::dead: these clito's are not cheap

Yes, Two of the techs are ex Renault technicians...That's why I chose it, they are a French car specialists. No worries on the timing. Had a little blast in it today to get some tyres fitted. Felt very very fit, spinning the wheels into 5th, mind you that's not saying much with the current weather. lol and the bald tyres

The guy who fitted the belt said that is did seem like a quick one. He commented on the cams, he is not certain but has a suspicion that they ain't standard... Idle is slightly more lumpy than the 182 and to be honest the 172 feels a lot quicker than the 182. go figure...

Yes the road was wet and the tyres were bald, however I wasn't breaking the speed limit of the road and the road was clear of other users. I was interested about the power of the car, no crime there. It is after all my first cup and I wanted to have a play. Is that not what these cars are all about. TBH it feels very pedestrian compared to my other cars so I did feel in control, if that is not a contradiction in terms.

Did anyone warn you about how knowledgeable everyone on here is. Good luck with the sale and welcome to CS lol

Thanks for the good luck wishes for the sale and the welcome to the forum, even if there is a sinister undertone.

I never tried to dupe anyone - Spares or repair

I am a trader with 13 experience, I normally trade in sub £9k town car and family cars. I like Clio's so I decided to looked into the RS's. This one was distance bought. It is getting sorted now. The biggest problem this car will have is the huge number of owners. I have paid to get the service history printout.

Anyway its nearly ready to come back on ebay.... 99p start no reserve, with full respray, cambelt, tyres, wheels refurbed... etc etc.

I fail to see why OP/Lookalike is getting such a hard time?

Rediculous amount of people jumping on the bandwagon for the sake of it, some with seemingly very little knowledge.

Original advert clearly stated the condition of the car and the fact it had no MOT. Price clearly reflected that.

I have a theory on why I have faced loads of hostility. I have refrained from biting back to all the petty posts. Here's my theory... I bought a Range Rover TDV8 8 months old last year for £51000. It is my pride and joy and I am a member of a number of RR forums and I love it. I hate that I am losing loads of money on it everyday. I went to trade it in for a new shape one last month and the dealer offered £39950, which hurt alot.:dead: Then I seen (on ebay) a rough project khan tdv8 same year and colour but it appeared to have had a hard life for £27000 cat d. and another ropey looking TDv8 for £34000 on a 58 plate (same age)... I was pissed that people where selling them for so a low price... I got on the defensive.
So when a guy pops up selling a Cup (even a nail of one) for £1650, all the boys who have 172's or lesser get a little bit arsey cos the feel it may be a trend bringing the value of their cars down. Fully understand it.
The cup was cheap and was advertised correctly. :rasp:
End of.

Nail on head. Sometimes I wonder about the intelligence of the people on this forum.

Seems a bargain for what the car is!

Would only take a weekend to sort most of the minor issues.

£40 MOT

Tax

You've got a decent cup for £2000?!

:)them jokers advertisin cat d's for 27k never actually sell them for that price or anywhere near they just price them high to give people the impression there top quality repairs & worth some decent money, i doubt there worth over 20k if that:rasp:

my mate brought a new shape m3 off ebay last week, damaged repaired, 6k miles, full spec car, in pristine condition and most importantly it was autoligned for:) 21k cash:) the seller was talkin of 28k but intodays mkt cash always talks espiecally when it comes to ex salvage repaired cars:cool:

take note of the car being autoligned which gives the car a value not a value what the owner thinks its worth, he will get 5/10% less than a straight one if it comes to a insurance claim unlike the any recorded cars which r worth 40/50% max:)
