Blu Ray DVDs

  Revels Mum & Sister
I dont tend to buy them. I have a couple and the old man buys a few now and again.

I just use Lovefilm and go to Blockbuster. Much cheaper in the long run. Or download them in MKV. I had like 600 DVD's sold them all on Ebay. Didnt have the room, never watched most of them and a lot still had wrappers on.

Between rentals and Sky HD that sorts me out :)

I've bought Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2 today from Play for £17.99 delivered. Not a bad price for both films.

Is Band of Brothers worth buying on BD? Zavvi are selling this for £28.

Yes if you haven't already got it on DVD. No if you've got it already. I bought it, and to be honest whilst it's a fantastic series, the BD doesn't bring that much to the party.

I know some will disagree, but the DVD transfer on it was a good one in the first place.

The sound and picture was a massive improvement for me from the DVD version.
The snow scenes in Bastone was superb.
Get it if you havent allready done so.

I'll be buying it this Friday either from Zavvi if they still have it available or from Asda who have it on available for £32.

  SLK 350
I'm only on the 3rd Episode, perhaps I need to try it back-to-back, the HD audio I'm not running. Don't get me wrong, it's good, just I'm not sure I'd buy it again in retrospect over my existing DVD set.

I've never watched any of it and do not own the dvd's so I reckon I'll enjoy the BD version. My new AV receiver will also prove useful.

Just read that True Romance will be released on BD in the US on 26th May, can't wait :)

Got TDK on Blu-Ray and have ordered Planet Earth 5 Disk set, Black Hawk Down and Batman Begins,

Will then have a search for a few other favourites as and when I can afford/be arsed to search.

Only Blue-Ray movie I have is Dark Knight which I had to get seeing as imo it's a quality film and it was one of, if not the last film/s the late Heath Ledger was in.

I've got the planet earth box set on blu and it's good, but don't expect to get blown away.

Some of the scenes are good enough to give you a nose bleed, but others are quite poor. You have to remember the footage is stretched over quite a few years, it's sometimes filmed with a handheld in bad weather etc.

Here's my blu list:
Planet Earth,
Transformers,
Dark Knight,
The incredible hulk (Ed Norton version),
Iron man,
The matrix,
Sin City.

For me, Transformers, Iron man, hulk, and city are all equally stunning!

The matrix isn't that good, little bit let down with that.

Rented ratatouille and it was faultless, would recommend that to anyone. The same goes for The watchmen.

I've got a sony 350 and a pana plasma 46 1080, a pretty good setup :)
