Check to see if Sach Dampers have been serviced also service history including belts as these will cost around a grand to sort.

Check all the usual things, servicing regarding belts etc.

Check the dampers aren't soft, stand next to the wheel, and push down on the wing, the suspension shouldn't move.

Don't let the mileage put you off if all the servicing bits are in order, just be wary of wear and tear items regarding the suspension, ball joints, that sort of thing.

It's cheap. Very cheap, but that's probably mileage related.

I'd go look at it, but consider others also, have a look at other Trophys for reference.

  Mint 1*2's for sale-
on 138k the car has probably visually seen better days- there will no doubt be chips etc on the front from the miles & over time those miles taker there toll on the paint- so unless its been sprayed it wont look brilliant-
Also with the seats the same wear & tear will be obvious on them.

It depends what your looking for- A solid runner with average cosmetics & it may be fine- but your then delving into the service service history-
The belts are due for a second time on 144K so thats a potential £500-

Look over the service history & check- see when the stamps were - there should be around 12 or so on that mileage -
Belts were due at 72k & now again.

So what seems cheap may be a money pit.- If you can get it for 2.5k then irrespective of miles you could break it for close on that- whether you had the opportunity or skill maybe not-
It would probably still go for 2k on lunar miles.....

rang the dealer, asian guy with loads of background noise, thought i'd got a wrong number.

he didn't know whether the cambelt had been done and said there was zero service history on the car!

He's had that car for about a year now!

Very rude to deal with & accused me of not having the money to purchase it lol.

The condition of the car is poor & the interior is very worn. Walk away.

oh dear! are you referring to the car at "DTM Cars" or at Railway ?

I've just rang him, doesn't know whether the car has a full service history, they've changed the cambelt themselves but has no records beyond that!

I'd be very wary of a DIY cambelt change, they require specialist tools to be done right. I'd much rather find one that had been carried out by an experienced RenaultSport specialist.

eek, I deleted some!?

just had a look at your build thread and it should be noted that i'm after a car with full sachs dampers ideally!

Not a problem, some people prefer to have the adjustable rears but nevermind, I'll hang on to it, I will note the rear shocks are only 2 months old :) Would've been a nice bargain at £3000

How come Will, what's your rationale?

Probably hung up on everyone banging on about it has to have sachs dampers on....however that is just the fronts, the rears aren't all that and tend to fail on higher mileage examples, at £100+ per damper some owners tend to go for other alternatives such as koni's, gaz or bilstein

Just had two pm's about people interested in the trophy lol, shouldn't of opened me trap now I'm sat looking at it outside with my rose tainted goggles on :)
