Connects 2?

Hey was wondering if i could use my ipod with the standard stereo in my Mk2 Ph1, so i came across some threads which were called Connects 2, did some research, but can anyone give me any ideas on how this works, i read you can also use your controls on steering wheel? Just more info/guides/prices needed please.
Also any other cheap alternatives? Just so i can play my ipod through the car stereo.

I believe the only controls that will work on the steering stalk is the volume...

I could be wrong though.

if using the aux in kit you control volume only,ipod specific you control volume,track change,album change and mute
