De-chavvin' project

What did you lower the car on mate\?

It's lowered on some customs springs that a forum member supplied (chewitt) the ride is really harsh and now have a new pothole hating passion.

Plans are to get it on some stretched tires then i can get them out the arches abit with some spacers. 'Down and out yo' ;)

Soon i will maybe go to coilovers if i have enough money, still want to get the paint damage sorted first. I'm tempted to just cut off the rear exhaust tip and weld on a new tip facing the ground to hide it, i know it's bit of a bodge, but will just be a tempory solution i guess.

First thing on my list though will be Fogs then possibly the tires when i next get paid. Still need to find a place that will stretch them, i rang a company in Luton yesturday and they gave me a lecture over the phone how they will never fit tires incorrectly and said i would be irrisponsible to do so. :S

Little update, tires arrived today, and are being fitted tomorrow :)

Still waiting on my spacers.

More pics tomorrow when they are fitted.

pics needed. i love mine!

Strange, i have pics up? Can't you see them?

Hopefully I can get my back tires this week, maybe getting Nankang 165/45/50's, or might go with Bridgestone potenzas again.
But, want an RS grille and have to re-order my spacers because delivery address and card address where different so i wasn't billed .

What you guys think? Front spacers or rear stretch tires.

Btw for anyone wanting stretch tires fitted i found this place.

Nice helpful guy, would recommend him.

Another little update, look's like i'm not just de-chavving, kinda leaning towards the euro look ;)

Rear tyres on.

It's in desperate need of a wash though.

Quite liking the height at the front, looks like it could go a little lower, but gonna wait till i have the spacers on first.

Rears really need spacing out!

and finally a little picture of my driveway clearance :)

Just been paid so hopefully have the wheels spaced out 'soonish'.

Re: A Project of healing :p

Updated pics from my clio media thread. After fitting FK highsports, little bit lower :)

Fitting my FK rears instead of the custom springs, majority of people think it looks broken at the back and I'm starting to agree, plus i keep scrapping my exhaust :(

Spacers are ordered and will be fitted when they finally arrive.

Anyone know if camber shims are available for the non sports or are people still using washers?

LOL at how low the back is, and the cupboard in the back.

Rear end needs to sit higher than that. It looks like the suspension is broke and you have a s**t load of reverse rake going on. Front should be marginally lower than the rear (only very slightly).

Other than that it's look okay! Much better than the previous mods, courtesy of your boy x to the z.

I really REALLY don't understand why people think a car that low looks good. Its awful! Each to their own and all that but my god......i'd be embarrassed to drive it.

  Never above 25mpg
To be low you also need stance imho, tuck is not a good look.

Looks alot better in the pic without the bra too :)

What he said

Its all good going down the "Euro" route but it must be done right otherwise it just looks like another french car trying to be a VW.
Good progress though

Well it looks far better than before.....but its far to low (reverse rake) I think the windows are to dark but keep it up pal your heading in the right direction.

Looks alot different now it's higher at the rear and currently refurbishing some Porsche 928 wheels, will update this thread later.

i really like this tbh, really good thread does look alot better now!! will be good to see them porsche wheels on mate

Well, it's better. I'd loose the sink in the back and get the rear raised a bit and some spacers. It has potential but sorry to say it looks a bit silly atm.

Wow, what a transformation! Excellent take on a euro look, pal. You have guts, I couldnt live with a car that low any more, but then i guess im starting to show my age (or so my wife keeps telling me :-().

Good for you, pal!

Great transformation, it looks a million times better. Soon as you get them wheels spaced out it will look the dogs proverbials. :) I would get rid of the cupboard in back and get a smaller sub and box as well but that's just me. :)
