Group Buy@Hayward&Scott(Custom Exhaust)

Visited these guys today in Basildon, Essex. Spoke to them regarding a possible group buy on a custom exhaust system.
The guy said as well as choosing the sound of the exhaust, we also viewed about 30 different shape exhaust exits.
The guy said would need at least 5people for a discount. The price is £375+v.a.t
Some of you may think its a bit steep but just check out their work

Thses guys really know what they are talking about. They are looking at leaving your car there for a few hours&probably looking at booking 5/6weeks in advance.
Does,nt really matter what car you have just let me know if you are interested.

Just think about it because it will be well worth it! We popped in there today&they were working on the Redline Sierra Cosworth(REYLAND). Its just something we are thinking about over the next couple of months&just wanted to get some feedback.

Yes chris that is a cat back system. Prospeed was an option but its round about the same sort of price&i was told today that as a group buy they will give you £20 off!! Which to be honest isnt really worth driving all the way to Wales for.

We need at least 5people to get the discount otherwise it will be £425+vat. It would be in a couple of months, which would give us all plenty of time to get the money together then once we are ready we just ring&book it. As i mentioned bookings they are taking now are 5/6 weeks in advance

just to add speaking to this guy today at hayward and scott has really put me off going anywhere else, i have seen there work in the flesh not just toms car but on scoobys and cossies and there is no way you could get a better sounding, finish, and customised exhaust anywhere else, to put it into perspective, they had an old 308 ferrari there a porsche 911 turbo, redlines cossie aswell as an escort cossie, all being worked on, they really have the creme de la creme going there, so they are definitely not your average exhaust builder and for that price which is £440 all in, you are paying for a work of art,

I work with H&S systems every day and speak to Ian there all the time. Their work is absolute quality. The stuff they make for us for the Subaru market is the best out there. I had a full H&S system on my Impreza and it was superb.

Without going all the way to Wales i cant physically see what prospeed have to offer only the opinions of other people! I was really impressed today&im going to start saving right away

If you want to wait it wont be a problem, the waiting lists are long.

But its best to secure some kind of deposit to get that HUGE! discount.

Remember guys 1 exhaust from them is normally £550+vat.

Yes. you are all welcome to come and see thier work and listen for yourselves.

BTW they offer a seperate decat for around £40-50 as long as you get it done there and then.

Do you know how long they require the car for please? And also, do you get the exhaust back to be able to fit it back on if anything happens?

Just to mention, I doubt the 182 exhaust would be £375 plus VAT, seeing as theyd have an extra rear box + tailpipe, not to mention the extra work that goes into teh Y piece splitter.

Id be interested for sure. Can anyone give more details on what type of exhaust we would be getting? would it be visible from the car externally obviously the current 172 one is hidden. Also is this a cat back system? does it effect the current cat at all? Any details? at what stage would a deposit need to be paid? how long will the install take?....what options do H&S offer with regards to an exhaust system?

Dave182-As far as we were aware this is for ANY clio-regardless of 172/182-or even 1.2. They will built anything you want.

AS400-Me&lozza viewed at least 30 different tailpipe options available. Even hidden system if you want. Cat back system, cat replacement. Anything you want they will make! Believe the guy said if things are all booked up in nadvance then they prepare everything&we just go down there& a few hours later &its done. Cat stays put, or you can get a replacement-toms is a decat which means that when its m.o.t time the original cat jus bolts back on in to place.
Dont know about the deposit or anything yet, this is just to get a few ideas. It suits me&lozza to get it done in may/june time which gives people plenty of time to gather the money needed-once we have the people we need we will go ahead &get more details

just to add, people that are interested please put down what you would like done, what car it is (ie-engine size), and any info you would like answered, once we have definite answers, we will phone H&S up and ask them your questions, how much each individual will have to pay, iirc the guy said once all booked in the cars would be finished in 2-3 hours so we could hang around watch them at work or whatever flicks your switch,

it doesnt matter what car youve got as long as we are all booked in on the same day, then we will get a good saving

Hi Guys
Phoned H&S just now& here are your questions answered:

This group buy is not JUST FOR 172s. It can be any clio at but of course the price may differ.

Decat is possible if anybody wanted one as well but it all depended on the car as the piping differs.

Group buy price stands at the moment but if anybody happened to drop out then that would of course change the price for all.

I advised them that we were looking to get this done May/June time which would be fine.

A visit can be organised. Of course i said that i can contact them to arrange a day. They are open on Saturday morning 8-12.30
