Heated lambda sensor?

  R26
Just trying to sort out a misfire problem which only occurs when the car is cold. Rstuner comes up with "O2 Heater fault" which had me completely confused because it sounds like it was to do with the heating matrix.

Ive just thought: does the clio use heated lambda sensors? This would explain the fault code and the fact the misfire is only when the car is cold. Would a faulty heating element be enough to make the car misfire (sometimes down to 2 cylinders) or is it more likely to just affect emissions.

Thanks

Yes I am sure the lambdas are heated until the engine is upto temp so they are effective when the engine is cold.

They are pre-heated because the sond may take damage by hot steam if they are cold. Read: Condensation from the exhaust turning to steam when the engine is started. At least thats what the Innovate LC-1 manual says and it uses a Bosch BB lambda unit.
