Service light and Oil on the mileage display

Went to start my car this morning and the service light and a reading saying oil on the mileage display was there for abit.

Started driving and the oil wiriting dissapeared and went back to the normal reading but the service light stayed on. After stopping and going into halfrauds for some cleaing stuff i started the car again and the service light had also switched off.

Anyone any ideas?

check your oil mate. if oil was flashing instead of saying 'oil ok' on the trip computer then your running low. It does go off if your close to the indicator. Were u parked on a slight slope when it came on?
