Noisy wiper mechanism

I think it's the spring but it squeaks on every wipe. Is there anything I can put on it to try and stop it? I've tried WD40 which worked for about 10 minutes then covered my car when I set off.

What about the stuff that's used on bike chains? Can't think of the name of it right now but might not come off when you drive

Yeah, I use that on the mx bikes.
Is VERY greasy though.
